Annam Express was born in 2021 from a simple craving. The kind only home food can satisfy.

After migrating from Chennai to Sydney, finding truly authentic South Indian food felt impossible. The biryanis were different. The spice blends were unfamiliar. The flavours that felt like home simply were not there.

So we started cooking. In a home kitchen in Sydney, we recreated the biryanis we grew up with — Chennai Bhai Wedding Style, Ambur Style, Dindigul Style, Thalappakatti Style and Hyderabadi Style, using traditional spice blends and no shortcuts.

What started as cooking for family and friends grew into something bigger. People wanted to take the taste home. They wanted to recreate it themselves. That is when Annam Express became a business.

Our biryani and curry mixes are made locally in Australia with no artificial preservatives and no compromise on flavour. Just add your choice of meat, vegetables, water and rice. Authentic South Indian biryani in your own kitchen, in under an hour.

We also offer ready-made biryanis from time to time, and catering for events ranging from intimate family gatherings to large corporate functions.
